Tour
Available Year Round for 2 or More Travelers

A cruise through the
Galapagos Islands is an unforgettable experience. The most
remarkable species of birds and animals are found here on
this archipelago, which lies more than 600 miles off the
coast of Ecuador. Hike the trails to observe up close and
personal curious island residents such as marine iguanas,
giant tortoises, sea lions, blue-footed boobies, pelicans,
flightless cormorant (birds that have lost their ability
to fly) and even a few penguins. These mysterious
creatures inspired Charles Darwin to propose his theory of
evolution through natural selection.
Back on the mainland, the Andes Mountains are home to the
capital city, Quito, which has some of the finest colonial
architecture in the Americas. The mountains are a sight in
themselves -- two chains of snowcapped peaks known as the
Avenue of the Volcanoes. In the smaller towns and villages
of the Sierra, you will see the descendants of Inca
peoples, many of whom wear distinctive clothing and hats
that identify them as residents of a particular area.
Travel with us to Ecuador and the Galapagos,
a UNESCO World Heritage site full of rare and wondrous
natural diversity.

In
the morning transfer to the domestic airport for a flight over the Pacific
Ocean to the remote Galapagos Islands. Upon arrival, you will be met by

There
are over twenty-five islands within the Galapagos, making it difficult to
visit them all in one trip, therefore your cruise itinerary will be
coordinated with the Galapagos National Parks so that you see as much of
the Galapagos as possible. Due to Galapagos National Park regulations and
weather conditions, please note that the cruise itinerary is subject to
change.
Baltra
is home to the Galapagos airport and thus the first island you will visit.
During World War II, Baltra was occupied by the U.S. Army, which
constructed the first landing strip in the Galapagos for jet aircraft. The
principal plants on this relatively barren island are cacti, palo santo
trees, and annuals such as grasses and small vines.

Cruz Island In the afternoon you will cruise to Santa Cruz Island.
Passengers will observe the twin pit craters, Los Gemelos and later visit
Cerro Chato. The chances are good of a sighting of the famous giant
