Begin your journey with an overnight in The Saxon, tucked away in a tranquil and quiet suburb of Sandhurst, Johannesburg. Head off on safari into the Madikwe Private Reserve at Madikwe Hills to experience Big Five game viewing like no other in a malaria-free zone. Look forward to richly appointed accommodations and incredible scenery on your three night stay.
The next part of your safari takes you to the luxurious Leopard Hills for three nights, then finally, round off your journey in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve at Kings Camp. On your way to the Timbavati from Sabi Sand, you will stop in Hazyview at Elephant Whispers, where you will meet a herd of semi-habituated elephants. After your lunch under the shady trees, you will have the opportunity to interact with these gentle giants and then embark upon a short ride with an experienced handler at the helm. You will end up in Kings Camp for the night, where you will spend the remainder of your time enjoying amazing sightings in the Timbavati.

Set within 75 000 hectares of safari park, Madikwe Hills Private Game Lodge is situated on a rocky outcrop in the heart of the malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve in the North West Province of South Africa. Madikwe Hills Main Lodge boasts 10 supremely spacious and luxurious suites which are very hard to leave. A cosy living room with huge slate-clad chimney (perfect to snuggle up in front of an open fire on cooler nights) leads into the peaceful bedroom with a gigantic pillow-strewn four-poster bed draped in generous layers of muslin, from where it’s possible to lie and gaze in wonder as herds of wandering animals make their way to the watering hole.
Throw open all the floor-to-ceiling windows and retreat to a sunbed in the shade of an acacia tree, or grab a towel and jump into your own personal plunge pool for the ultimate in relaxed game viewing – you’ll be amazed at what passes by just a hundred feet or so from your deck.

SABI SAND GAME RESERVE | LEOPARD HILLS
Award-winning Leopard Hills
Located in the western sector of the renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve, bordering the world famous Kruger National Park, the Lodge is perfectly set on a rocky outcrop, offering magnificent views over the bush and an active waterhole on the plains below.
The Reserve comprises over 10,000 hectares of incredibly diverse ecosystems making Leopard Hills the ideal destination to view plentiful game in its natural habitat. Here the Big Five, (Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Buffalo and Leopard), abound and viewing them at close proximity.
The five-star luxury lodge features eight exquisite renovated and redecorated glass-fronted, air-conditioned suites, each with private plunge pool and superb views over the African bush. Sensational game-viewing and a wide variety of activities, along with outstanding fine dining, attended to by professional and friendly staff; all create the safari experience of a lifetime.

Your days in the African Bush
The more productive times to enjoy game viewing is first thing in the morning before the heat of the day kicks in, and late afternoon as the day starts to cool down ensuring further animal movement.
During the heat of the day when the animals have retreated to the shade for some respite, you get to enjoy a light lunch and time to relax around the camp, or cool off in your private plunge pool before enjoying the next round of spectacular game viewing.
Not only do you get to see amazing wildlife on your morning drive, but you will enjoy a steaming cup of coffee and biscuits, in the middle of the African bush, while welcoming the new day. On your late afternoon drive you will stop at a special site to watch the sun set and toast to a spectacular days safari.
Darkness brings about a time of both danger and respite in the bush which allows you to possibly spot smaller carnivores like Genet or Civet not usually seen by day. This is also the time when most predators hunt so your evening game drive could potentially be the most exciting of all.
For more energetic guests really wanting to work up an appetite before their hearty breakfast, guided bush walks or trails are offered half way through your morning drive or in place of your morning drive. Here your guide will show you many fascinating things and tell you a secret or two about the bush.

Built on a hill overlooking a natural waterhole, Leopard Hills boasts eight newly renovated and exquisitely decorated luxurious glass-fronted suites. Complete with their own sundeck and rock plunge pool, the suites offer superb views of the African bushveld beyond.

As part of the greater Kruger National Park, which covers an area of 2.2 million hectares, this Timbavati safari lodge is a wildlife haven boasting a diversity of animal life including the Big 5.
